Sarah Tremellen MBE
Sarah is the Founder of Bravissimo, a multi-channel lingerie and clothing retailer based in Leamington. Sarah started the business in 1995 following her own frustrating attempts to buy lingerie when her bra size increased when she was pregnant. Her aim was to provide a really good choice of bras in big cup sizes and to provide an environment where women could celebrate their curves and feel positive about their figures.
Over the last 20 years Sarah has developed Bravissimo from a tiny start up business into a company with a turnover of £50m employing 750 people. 240 of these employees are in Leamington in the company’s head office, fulfilment centre and Regent Street shop. Bravissimo now has 28 shops and a mail order and online business selling to lingerie, swimwear, nightwear and clothing to women all over the world.
Sarah and Bravissimo have won numerous awards including Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year, Businesswoman of the Year and Drapers Best Lingerie retailer. Bravissimo has been in the Sunday Times Best Companies to work for from 2007-2017. In 2009 Sarah was awarded an MBE for Services to Entrepreneurship.
Sarah said ‘At Bravissimo we are very proud to be a Leamington based business, and I am delighted to be asked to judge the Leamington Business Awards again this year. The awards are a great way to showcase the many and varied businesses in the town and the quality and breadth of the entries last year was excellent. We are very lucky to have so many talented people and successful enterprises in Leamington and I am really looking forward to seeing this year’s entries.
