What are the benefits of entering?

Entering these awards gives your company a great opportunity to be recognized in the local community. The awards focus on highlighting local talent, rewarding businesses who deliver great services, and celebrating investment in the town. Keep an eye out for news updates which will include interviews from previous winners and the impact that winning a Leamington Business Award has had on their company.

Can a business enter for more than one category?

There is no limit to how many categories you can enter. Last year, we overhauled the categories to give a broader range of local businesses the opportunity to celebrate their success. Whichever categories you enter, we do encourage you to take a note of the criteria and provide as much evidence as much relevant evidence as possible within the word limit as this information will be used by the judges to decide on the winner. All finalists will be considered for the overall ‘Business of the Year’ award.

Is there a cost for entering the awards?

There’s no cost to enter the awards, no matter how many categories you enter.

Tickets to the awards dinner cost £70 per person and we hope that all finalists will attend along with other guests. The Leamington Business Awards is a not for profit event and we rely on sponsorship and ticket sales to be able to put on the event and to raise as much as possible to support our local charities.

How are the awards judged?

All entries will be reviewed by our independent panel of judges against the judging criteria, who will agree a shortlist before announcing the winners at the awards dinner. Entrants are encouraged, where possible, to include some feedback from customers/partners and/or employees as part of their submission.

The Business of the Year award is a judge’s choice award and will be selected from all entries received.

How will the judging be impartial if the awards are run by another company?

The Leamington Business Forum (LBF) provide the administrative support for the Leamington Business Awards, as part of their commitment to the local business community. However, LBF is not involved in the judging process. LBF has no influence over who does or does not enter, who is shortlisted or who ultimately wins the awards. I’m a small business – how am I suppose to compete against larger businesses who can reach more of the public?

These awards are designed to be accessible to businesses of all sizes and types. The judges will take into account the overall size and relative success of each individual business and will consider each entrant on their own merits.

What is the closing date for Awards entries?

The closing date for the 2019 awards is the 9th August 2019.

Where and when is the awards ceremony?

The awards ceremony will be held at the Royal Pump Rooms in Leamington on Friday 15th November 2019. Finalists will be contacted via email and will be announced during the summer on the website and social media. All entrants will be invited to attend this ceremony but finalists will be given the opportunity to secure tickets before they go on general sale.
