What are the benefits of entering?

Entering these awards gives your company a great opportunity to be recognised in the local community. The awards focus on highlighting local talent, rewarding businesses who deliver great services, and celebrating investment in the town. Keep an eye out for news updates which will include interviews from previous winners and the impact that winning a Leamington Business Award has had on their company.

Am I eligible?
To enter the awards, you must be, or work for, a Leamington business. This means your business (with the exception of the South Warwickshire Achievement Award and the Warwick District Charity of the Year Award) must be based in the following postcodes; CV31, CV32, CV33 parts of CV34.

All businesses based on Tachbrook Park, Warwick Technology Park and the Heathcote Industrial Estate are eligible to enter.

For the Young Person of the Year, entrants should live or work in the eligible postcodes, or attend a school or college within these postcodes.

To enter the Warwick District Charity of the Year Award the organisation must be based or predominantly work in the Warwick District. There may be a restriction on the distribution of the funds raised if yours is not a registered charity.
To enter the South Warwickshire Achievement Award you must be a business or person based in one of the following neighbouring districts; Warwick or Stratford upon Avon.

Can a business enter for more than one category?

There is no limit to how many categories you can enter. Last year, we overhauled the categories to give a broader range of local businesses the opportunity to celebrate their success. Whichever categories you enter, we do encourage you to take a note of the criteria and provide as much evidence as much relevant evidence as possible within the word limit as this information will be used by the judges to decide on the winner. All finalists will be considered for the overall ‘Business of the Year’ award.

Is there a cost for entering the awards?

There’s no cost to enter the awards, no matter how many categories you enter.

Tickets to the awards dinner cost £70 per person and we hope that all finalists will attend along with other guests. The Leamington Business Awards is a not for profit event and we rely on sponsorship and ticket sales to be able to put on the event and to raise as much as possible to support our local charities.

How are the awards judged?

All entries will be reviewed by our independent judging panel against category criteria and a shortlist will be drawn up. The Business of the Year award is a judge’s choice award and will be selected from all entries received. As part of the judging process, finalists in some categories may be required to provide financial information for the past two years, as well as a projection for the next 12 months.

The winners will be announced and awards presented live on stage at the awards. The judges’ decision is final.

How will the judging be impartial if the awards are run by another company?

Talk Business UK provide the administrative support for the Leamington Business Awards, as part of their commitment to the local business community. However, Talk Business UK is not involved in the judging process. Talk Business UK has no influence over who does or does not enter, who is shortlisted or who ultimately wins the awards. Those decisions are carried out by a panel of independent judges.

I’m a small business – how can I compete against larger businesses?

These awards are designed to be accessible to businesses of all sizes and types. The judges will take into account the overall size and relative success of each individual business and will consider each entrant on their own merits.

Where and when is the awards ceremony?

The 2020 awards ceremony was due to be held at The Assembly in Leamington, but had to be cancelled due to the pandemic.

How can I get tickets?

Finalists will be contacted via email and will be announced during the summer on the website and social media. All entrants will be invited to attend this ceremony but finalists will be given the opportunity to secure tickets before they go on general sale.
