Charities

The Leamington Business Awards give local businesses a chance to raise their profile and gain recognition for their hard work. As well as championing those businesses who go the extra mile, The Leamington Business Awards also help those who need a little extra hand to keep doing their extraordinary charity work.

Every year, as a non-profit organisation, the awards donate surplus profits made, whether it be from raffle prizes, ticket sales or sponsorship, to local charities. This year’s chosen charities are Springfield Mind and The Ups of Downs.

Springfield Mind is a successful charity founded over 30 years ago to promote wellbeing within the community. Our mission is to deliver local services which promote mental wellbeing and prevent mental health problems.

We are viewed as a well governed, outcomes focused charity that has a human face. We live and breathe wellbeing with individuals, organisations and not neglecting ourselves in the process. This is achieved in partnership with service users, volunteers and professionals through education, signposting and promotion.

Springfield Mind’s vision is a society where people with mental health distress can live free of stigma, discrimination and achieve their personal mental wellbeing.

Established in 2006, and based in Leamington Spa, The Ups of Downs has been celebrating Down syndrome in Warwickshire and surrounding counties for the last 12 years and works with more than 60 families with children and young people aged from 0-14 years.

Our vision is to help create a world where people with Down syndrome live their lives to the max as fully included, valued members of society.

These charities are so deserving of the donations this year and we hope the awards will give them that little extra help that they need to continue their work in the community.
